 J. Andrew Nelson

Andrew began piano lessons at age 6, and eventually picked up his Father's guitar at age 12. He was inspired early by his parents' CD collection and dabbled in various styles from Rock and Blues to Ragtime and Classical. After being mostly self-taught on the guitar for a few years, he gained an interest in Jazz and took private lessons under University of Utah faculty member Tully Cathey. At that time he also began teaching, composing, and performing professionally. He continued his education in music at the University of Utah where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music - Jazz Performance. During that time he was involved in various school bands and ensembles, while gigging in local bands and as a solo performer.

Andrew continues to pursue several musical endeavors including solo guitar and music production.
