"Personally, a lot of concepts in music that i have tried working on not only on my own time, but with other teachers had proved difficult. When i came across Andrew i knew right after our first consultation that i was gonna see results. Within the first few sessions i was able to grasp concepts that i had been struggling with for years. This guy is incredibly legit, an awesome player, and trust a down right great teacher. I have and will still recommend him to any player looking to hone their skills."

"Andrew is that rare teacher you hope to find who is both focused and flexible. Each lesson felt designed just for me. Andrew is skilled at everything a guitar player could hope to study: flat picking, bluegrass, jazz, finger style, theory, country, classical. You name it, and he can help you learn. As an older learner and perpetual novice at guitar, I particularly appreciate Andrew's easy and kind manner. Simply put, I am lucky to have found him."

-Bonnie G.

I have been working with Andrew now for several months. His knowledge of music theory and skill in guiding me through chord structure and progressions for blues and jazz and pop has been so much fun. As a classical pianist wanting to transition to understanding the keyboard and unlock a free flow of improv in these other genres is my goal…I am so stoked to have found him! Highly recommend!

"Andrew gets it. He helps you learn the technique, theory and important basics you need to know about playing, while teaching these things through songs and well-planned, progressive lesson materials. He possesses the most important skill a teacher can have - the ability to meet a student where they are - and work with them from this place to improve. He combines an extensive training history of his own with an understanding and flexibility across musical genres, making him an adaptive and effective teacher. Sign up. It will be money well spent."

"Andrew improved my guitar and piano playing faster and more than I could have thought possible! His flexible and dynamic teaching style allowed us to move at whatever pace I wanted, which kept me feeling comfortable and made learning easy. He is extremely skilled and knowledgeable in his craft and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to take their music to the next level."

"Andrew is a fantastic guitarist and teacher. I’ve been taking bluegrass guitar lessons from him for a few months and the progress I’ve made has far exceeded my expectations. His knowledge of the genre and repertoire is incredible. The pace of the lessons is spot on. I don’t ever feel like I’m needing more or taking on too much. I’m really looking forward to continuing my lessons with Andrew and highly recommend him to guide you on your guitar journey."

"I have taken guitar lessons with Andrew extending over a year now. I am an amateur yet experienced guitarist and he has been of great help on a variety of fronts including new techniques, arrangements, and chord substitution options. I have typically played either alone or in a band as a rhythm player and singer. Andrew has opened new doors for me in terms of options when playing solo. He is an exceptional player and instructor. I recommend him highly."

-Leland R.

"I have been going to Andrew for a little over a year for both guitar and piano lessons. Whether you are a novice or have some background, but want to expand your skills, Andrew is a fantastic instructor. His approach is very flexible, and he tailors his lessons to what you want to learn. He has a ton of practical, self-made material including videos that you can use on-line for learning and practice in between in-person sessions. Additionally, his higher education in advanced music/guitar and being a live gigging musician and part of a band are ideal for him to assist in understanding music theory and songwriting. He can even assist on selecting a proper guitar, pedals and recording equipment.  My understanding of guitar and piano concepts, theory and techniques has greatly expanded by working with Andrew. Lastly, he is just a great, down-to-earth person who displays a genuine enthusiasm and enjoyment in seeing his students progress. I highly recommend him."

"Andrew is a best-in-class teacher. I have worked with teachers of many types over the years and Andrew stands out for several important reasons. First, he has a sincere interest in helping you learn and get better matched to you interests. Second, he brings new ideas and approaches to the process to make the work more impactful. Finally, he has a great attitude, positive energy and becomes an ally as you continue the journey together. An amazing musician for sure, but one that can bring his experience, deep understanding of theory, and technique into the lessons to make them fun and valuable. Cannot recommend him more."

"It's always difficult to learn new skills as an adult. Doubly so when you consider yourself a perfectionist and have a hard time starting from scratch. Andrew is an excellent teacher who not only knows how to teach the baseline skills, but is also gracious and encouraging when laying that important foundation. His class is a no judgement zone and if you follow his direction and practice at home you will absolutely see progress in no time. Andrew is not only a talented musician but a talented teacher. If you're looking to learn an instrument, go for it! You're in great hands."

"Andrew is very very knowledgeable about music! I am taking Jazz Piano lessons from him and he is a phenomenal instructor. Of course he is, He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Jazz composition and performance! Enough said! And he is extremely encouraging, helpful and patient. You will not find many teachers in this valley that are up to his caliber! So go ahead and give him a try and you won't be disappointed! He is the cream of the crop when it comes to my genre of music: Jazz, and also in any other. He has a wonderful band that plays incredible music. They tour and travel and it's a truly great experience to sit under his tutelage!"

-Clifton T.

"Andrew is legit! Seriously, though, he’s a master with the guitar, but he is able to break it down into very basic understanding for us beginners. He’s great with a lesson and sending you home with practice songs, homework, scales. I learned a TON in just 2 months. If you want a guitar teacher who has all the skills, Andrew is your man."

-Annie H.

"I have always wanted to learn to play guitar and have tried a few teachers through the years--as well as the YouTube route, but I wasn't able to break through and make real progress. My experience with Andrew has been not only fantastic, but completely different. He tailors his lessons to my interests and abilities and I've FINALLY been able to see significant improvement! If you're looking for a great teacher who can teach any number of genres and styles, you should give Andrew a call. He's the best!"

-Eldon L.

"Andrew is an excellent musician and teacher. He teaches methods and techniques that make learning fun and successful. He had me finger picking from the beginning, which I never would have done on my own. Andrew has you learn songs that you like while at the same time incorporating fundamentals like strum patterns, pick patterns, and feel.
I am adult learner that started from scratch. I hope to keep learning from Andrew for a long time!"

-Katy A.

"I started lessons with Andrew over a year ago. I had taught myself a few basic chords back in college, but Andrew has opened up a whole new level of playing for me. He has a very approachable style, slowing adding more difficulty as I master one technique at a time. I find him to have a good balance of pushing to get the technique correct, while maintaining his an amicable personality."

-Mel W.

"Andrew is a great guitar teacher. His musical knowledge base is extensive and crosses many genres. He is happy to teach you whatever kind of music you want, at whatever pace you want. It is a great experience."

-Greg L.

"Great instructor for musicians of any skill level. Patient and thorough. The videos that Andrew makes for each lesson make it really easy to go back and work on what we talked about. Highly recommended!"

-David A.

"Andrew was very communicative about a schedule that worked with me, he taught me the basics in music theory and terminology, and gave homework each week in specific ways I could improve. I feel more empowered as a solo performer and also in my abilities to play with other musicians. I'm now confidently performing in a guitar/piano duo."

-Emily P.

"Andrew is an exceptional musician and a fantastic teacher. He is always adjusting the lessons based on where you want to go but keeps them challenging enough to grow your skills. Highly recommend Andrew!"

-Thomas Q.

"Great at breaking up concepts in a way that is easy (and less frustrating) to learn. Skilled teacher: understands variety of learning styles and adjusts/tailors his lessons and explanations to fit your learning style (this is a big one for me!) Very patient and good at not making you feel like an idiot!–as a 33-year-old first time learner, this was essential!"

-Lauren H.

Extremely skilled instructor, tailored the lessons to my previous skill level and music interests. Andrew is just the best!

-Cassidy W.

"Andrew is an excellent teacher. He is patient and knowledgable. He is good at matching the students pace and providing the necessary information needed to improve the skills he is teaching. He is a good communicator and listens to the student when they need extra instruction. My 13 year old daughter enjoys her guitar lessons and we see a lot of improvement of the last several months. Highly recommend."

I've been strumming guitar for 25 years, and Andrew has helped me break out of my rut and start learning how to solo up the neck. He's knowledgeable and easy to work with. He also teaches my teenage son piano. I highly recommend him as a teacher!

-Andy J.

"Andrew helped me prepare for the music program I’m in with private piano lessons. He’s great about teaching you the things you’ll be able to retain, and really knows his stuff! I recommended a friend to him for guitar lessons as well who says he’s really benefited from them so far. Highly recommend."
